Chairman Committee History
The following is an exhaustive history of the Villoux Chairman Committee and all departments and Chairmen that have served it. The Chairman Committee itself was formally recognized as a governmental body in January of 2013 when it became apparent to the Grand Council that a formal body needed to exist in order for the Department Chairmen to properly interact with one another since, prior to the Council Reforms of 2015, Department Chairmen did not serve on the Grand Council by default. The Chairman Committee met on a monthly basis and discussed ways for their departments to better support one another and vote on matters concerning accepting and removing gaming departments, which would then need approval from the Grand Council. Upon the enactment of the Council Reforms, the Chairman Committee was officially absorbed into the Grand Council.

Archeage Department
In October 2014, the Baskerville Advisor, Crepim introduced his friend, Pedr0Kaz, to Villoux's TeamSpeak server. Pedr0Kaz was looking for a suitable community to host his coalition of guilds and quickly learned that Villoux would be perfect for his community. Though the department closed in February 2015, it provided considerable TeamSpeak traffic while it was active. It was also notable for being a department that had hardly any American users despite the United States comprising the majority of users in the system.

Arma 2 Department
Villoux launched a campaign in the summer of 2012 to recruit new departments to the system via Steam forums. The 1st Marine Special Operations Battalion responded to the application and brought Arma 2 to the system in June 2012. Once the founder of the battalion, B4U5, retired from his position, the Chairmanship was transferred to his second-in-command, SnozZy, who had difficulty managing the moral of the battalion without B4U5, ultimately leading to the battalion's disbandment and the closure of the department.

Counter Strike has been sponsored as an official department on two different occasions. The first was from March 2011 - May 2011 and the most recent was from September 2015 - November 2018. Villoux has operated tournaments and servers in Counter Strike during both of its installations as a department.

Villoux's Destiny 2 Department was established in November 2019, and along with it, Villoux's official Destiny 2 clan, the Villoux Guardians Clan. Membership in the Villoux Guardians Clan was open to all users on Villoux's Discord Server. The department hosted weekly raids and monthly crucible tournaments.

Farmville was one of the shortest-lived departments in the system, lasting less than a month. It was brought to Villoux to explore integrating games from social media platforms like Facebook, but it quickly became apparent that was not an endeavor worth the system's time.

Forsaken World Department
After being recommended by Villoux's ally community of Cake Town, the then League of Legends Department Chairman, April convinced her friend, Draekrio, to bring the game to Villoux. The department is notable for never offering a server, tournament, or guild, which later became a requirement for all departments in Villoux. After it became apparent to the Grand Council that the department would not grow beyond its small friend group, it was disbanded so that the system could focus on other alternatives.

Fortnite Department
With battle royals increasing in popularity, Villoux decided to experiment the genre by launching a Fornite Department in June 2018. The first Fortnite Department Chairman, Earl554 abruptly resigned from his position two months after his department’s establishment due to an unforeseen personal issue. Rather than searching for a new Chairman, the Villoux Grand Council decided to focus on more server-based departments rather than tournament-based ones, so it moved to disband the Fortnite Department rather than elect a new Chairman.

Garry's Mod Department
What once appeared to be an aspiring department in Villoux quickly proved that it had no place in the system. Due to Garry's Mod's sandbox gameplay, several users in the game engaged in activities that the system considered unbecoming, resulting in the game never garnering much respect in Villoux. Without the respect or support of the user base, the department was swept away.

League of Legends Department
Since joining Villoux in April 2012, League of Legends has proven to be one of the most staple games of the system. The game was brought to the attention of the Villoux Chief of Staff, Dr. Baskerville when his friend, Madison, encouraged him to play the game. Recognizing the game's growing popularity, the Grand Council wasted no time in establishing the department. Beginning in September 2012 under the leadership of April, the system began hosting monthly North American League of Legends tournaments, which still take place today. By May 2017, Fredrik expanded these tournaments to the EU West server as well and TheRealPancake expanded tournaments to the EU Nordic & East server in June 2019. Lyllox Server System
Unlike the others on this list, the Lyllox Server System operated not as a gaming department, but as a dependent-community to the greater Villoux Server System. The idea behind Lyllox was to provide a grounds outside of Villoux to establish gaming departments and servers since an increasing issue in the system was start-up departments and servers that never evolved into larger departments, such as Forsaken World, Garry's Mod, and numerous Minecraft servers. Lyllox operated with its own TeamSpeak server, Grand Council, and staff, but was ultimately held accountable to the Villoux Chairman Committee, hence its presence on this list. Since it had server system status, the "Department Chairman" of Lyllox was referred to as the "Lyllox Chief of Staff"; the only instance in Villoux's history of a Chairman having a unique title. Lyllox's greatest accomplishment was the Minecraft server Snowfalke Pixelmon. When the Grand Council Reforms of 2015 were enacted, Lyllox was merged back with Villoux and became retconned as the "Misc. Gaming Section" of the System Press Department.

Melty Blood Department
Starting as a successful section in Villoux in July 2020, the Melty Blood Department was officially recognized as a department by the Villoux Grand Council in August 2020. Under the leadership of its first department chairman, Izzy, the schedule of biweekly tournaments was established. These tournaments have attracted new users to Villoux and have retained the interest of those who have previously joined to participate. Villoux's community-based Melty Blood tournaments are quickly becoming popular within the greater Melty Blood community, and the system looks forward to welcoming more new members to the department as it continues to expand.

Minecraft Department
The Minecraft Department proved to be the most successful department in the system's history, as with it came dozens of users who altered Villoux's history for the better. Nearly ever user in the system today has Minecraft to credit for their ability to join the system. It was users from the Minecraft Department that introduced Villoux to League of Legends, Realm of the Mad God, and Team Fortress 2, which the system still sponsors to this day. Aside from those big three, several other games joined the system through connections in the Minecraft Department, and an overwhelming majority of the Grand Council during the Minecraft Department's first incarnation came from Minecraft. Though its legacy is the strongest of any department throughout all of Villoux's history, the system became unable and unwilling to devote resources to compete with the rapidly shrinking number of people playing Minecraft and the mega servers that dominated those that did play, so Villoux's Minecraft Department was formally disbanded in July of 2016; over five years after its initial inception. Unfortunately, the department nor the community last longer than a month after the Commander of WBA and Department Chairman of Mount & Blade Warband, WbTrex lost his standing in other communities.

Villoux's first interaction with Osu! was in 2013 as a section. In November 2018, five years later, it returned to Villoux as an official gaming department. In the months preceding its establishment as a department, the 2018 Osu! section became the fast growing section in Villoux history, bringing in around 60 new users. The Osu! Realm of the Mad God Department
The Realm of the Mad God Department has been critical to Villoux's success since its adoption in March 2012. The idea of a Realm of the Mad God Department was introduced by a Minecraft user, Alch, who was a member of the Eight-Bit Death Guild. The department began its tradition of hosting guild channels under its first Department Chairman, Flosion. Future traditions would include a monthly dungeon run sponsored by the department. The department also launched its first private Realm of the Mad God server under Meowzo, and saw great success in private servers launched by Lunacy and Silent. These successful elements culminated to make Villoux the largest public TeamSpeak server for Realm of the Mad God for several years. For up-to-date information on the department, click here.

StarBreak Department
In an attempt to mimic the success from the other browser based game Realm of the Mad God, Villoux launched a StarBreak Department in September of 2016. Though the department never saw the same success as Realm of the Mad God, it did maintain a solid base of friendly players. It is also notable for never having an American Department Chairman - a rarity on the Chairman Committee.

What started as a side-project for renowned Grand Council Member, Flosion remained just that. It joined and left the system in September of 2014.

Team Fortress 2 Department
One of Villoux's first departments, Team Fortress 2 was first established in the system in September 2011. Though the department never managed to bring in many users itself, several Villouxians that were already in the system had great fun with the department. It was most notable for its monthly Team Fortress 2 tournaments.
In October 2018, Team Fortress 2 was re-established as a department in Villoux after several users banded together from other servers to request Villoux sponsor a TF2 server. With support from older users and new users alike, Villoux's current Team Fortress 2 Department hopes to bring a light-hearted fun atmosphere back to the system's first-person-shooter scene. By January 2021, the department had again slowed its pace down to a near complete stop, so the Grand Council moved to again disband the department.

Terraria Department
In an attempt to grow with Villoux's Minecraft Department, a group of users founded the Terraria Department in August of 2012. After realizing that the server and the department would not be able to compete against the Minecraft powerhouse, the Chairman Committee voted to absolve the department in January of 2013. Before its dissolution, it did manage to become the only gaming department to ever be entirely hosted by a Villoux-owned server box rather than relying on third-party hosts.

Trove Department
Trove was a popular game amongst many Villouxians in late 2015, which led to the system sponsoring a department for the game. The department was ultimately unable to attract new users to the system and the Villouxians interested in playing Trove soon lost interest, leading to the department's disbandment later that year.

Webkinz Department
The Webkinz Department was truly nothing more than a joke, but it manages to keep itself in Villoux's history since it was formally recognized as a department. In the Grand Council Reforms of 2015, it was cited as a reason to have the Villoux Grand Council vote to approve all new gaming departments before they are recognized.

A group of Canadian and Finnish Villouxians joined forces to form a World of Tanks Department in June of 2013. Unfortunately, the guilds found themselves unable to compete against the larger guilds in a game that had a very limited user-base, so the department closed four months later.
